Types of snowboard bindings

In addition to the traditional bindings, there are the Back In models, which have an easy entry and closing via a lever system. Step In models have a similar function but without the need to bend down to close the binding. You just 'walk into' it, hence Step In. Split bindings, on the other hand, have a system that allows them to be fixed integral to the board for the descent, and moved to a parallel position with a pivot pin for the ascent.
